# Canada's Colonial Story: A Hangman Challenge

Long ago, Canada was not one country yet. It was made up of many colonies. A colony is land ruled by another country far away. Each colony had a governor. A governor was sent to represent the ruling power ([Details](https://goa-cc-uat-aili-app-001.azurewebsites.net/explore/node/47670), [Details](https://goa-cc-uat-aili-app-001.azurewebsites.net/explore/node/47739)). Britain founded the Thirteen Colonies. Colonists came to the colonies for a variety of opportunities, including access to farmland, business, religious freedom, quality of life, and adventure. They started new lives in British North America ([Details](https://goa-cc-uat-aili-app-001.azurewebsites.net/explore/node/47660)). These colonies brought many ideas. They had beliefs, leaders, schools, and health care systems. One system was leadership. In a parliament, elected people make laws ([Details](https://goa-cc-uat-aili-app-001.azurewebsites.net/explore/node/47677), [Outcome](https://goa-cc-uat-aili-app-001.azurewebsites.net/explore/node/47737)). This game tests how well you know the people, places, and words from that story.
