# Ancient Civilizations Settlement Maze

Geography is the study of land and places. It shaped where ancient people built their homes and cities. Students examine how geographical features like mountains and rivers affected where people settled. Environmental changes also contributed to the settlement and trade of ancient civilizations ([Outcome](https://goa-cc-uat-aili-app-001.azurewebsites.net/explore/node/47702)). By tracing the path through this maze, you will identify key factors that drew people to river valleys and coastlines. You will discover how environment and settlement are interrelated ([Understanding](https://goa-cc-uat-aili-app-001.azurewebsites.net/explore/node/47705)).

## How to play

Start at the entrance marked START. Move through the maze by following the white path. You may only move forward, backward, left, or right. You cannot move diagonally. When you reach the exit marked END, you have solved the puzzle. Use a pencil or marker to trace your route. If you get stuck, backtrack to your last correct turn and try a different direction.
